First-ever 3K Coal Miner Mud Dash set for July 25th
The Wellston Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 1st Annual 3K Wellston Coal Miner Mud Dash on Saturday July 25th beginning at Noon.
The Mud Dash is an afternoon of family fun! There are obstacle courses, a mud pit, and several stations where some type of physical challenge is required. The event is open to anyone 8 years or older.
A modified, age-appropriate event path is mandatory for ages 8-12. Youth participants aged 13-17 can compete in all adult categories.
The course begins in front of Scotty’s on 1st Sports Bar & Grill (across from The Depot) and it goes through the former Frick-Gallagher lot, then down the bike path to the old Kuppenheimer (Pants Factory) property.
Please note this is not a race. We aren’t keeping time on individuals or on the entire event. It’s just for fun.
You are also not required to complete any of the event stations if you’re not comfortable doing it.
Be prepared to have a blast and get muddy!

Early Bird registration is open through July 11th. Those who register will receive an event t-shirt along with $5 in Funny Money, redeemable at any participating Chamber business for allowable products or services.
Cost is $40 per person for age 13-adult and $30 for youth age 8-12. A $2.50 processing fee is charged by Eventbee, our credit card vendor.
The check-in table opens on Saturday July 25th at Noon. You’ll need to sign a liability wavier and receive your Funny Money and t-shirt. Participants aged 8-17 will also need a parent or legal guardian to co-sign the wavier.
The Chamber is also looking for businesses to sponsor t-shirts and event stations. $100 for t-shirts (with your business name on the back) and $125 for t-shirts and a 24” x 24” custom sign at your station. Email info@wellstonchamber.org if you’re interested or need more information.
All proceeds from this event go to the Wellston Area Chamber of Commerce to be used for future community improvement projects.
