Being a member of the local Chamber of Commerce can bring significant rewards to your business: Networking opportunities, cost sharing agreements, business training programs, involvement in community events, and having a group of local business owners and managers who stand together for common interests.
Your Wellston Area Chamber of Commerce zealously supports local business owners in their desire for professional growth and economic prosperity. We want to see our downtown business district grow and expand and we welcome businesses of all types to the City of Wellston and the Wellston City School District area.
CHAMBER MEMBERSHIP CLASSES:
- ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP -- Any sole proprietorship, association, corporation, or partnership. The business or the organization is the active member. Each Active Member business shall designate one (1) owner, manager, or representative that will vote.
- ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP -- Any person not eligible for active membership who supports the mission of the Chamber is eligible to join as an Associate Member. This is a non-voting position. Auxiliary Members may assist the Chamber as needed, but they cannot be appointed or elected to the Board of Directors.
- ADVISORY MEMBERSHIP -- Any person or organization who interacts with the Chamber of Commerce on a professional level and may be called upon for their expertise or assistance. This is a non-voting position and there are no membership fees. Permanent advisory memberships are awarded to the City of Wellston Mayor’s Office, the Superintendent of the Wellston City School District, the Washington Township Trustees, the Milton Township Trustees, the Jackson County Economic Development Partnership, and the Jackson County Board of Commissioners. Each Advisory Member may designate a representative.
The Board of Directors has established the 2026 membership fee at $50 for the first year. This applies to Active and Associate members. Advisory members do not pay any membership fees.
The Wellston Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is an Ohio-registered not-for-profit corporation and has applied for IRS 501(c)6 tax-exempt status as a Chamber of Commerce. We meet monthly on the 2nd floor of the Thacker Building, 6 East Broadway Street in Wellston. This is where the Rusted Barn used to be located and is the long-time home of the Black Diamond Council #538, Free and Accepted Masons. The general business meeting is held at 5 pm on the first Monday of the month. The meeting is open to the public.
